Explorer Scouts (14-18)

Explorers are a go-getting group of young people aged 14 to 18. Together, they make up the fourth section of the Scouts. Week in and week out, they gather in groups called Units to try new things, make new friends and conquer the small task of changing the world.

Explorers are encouraged to lead themselves in deciding the programme and direction of the Unit, with support and guidance from leaders.

The section also includes the Young Leaders’ Scheme, where young people are able to take on a leadership role in one of the younger sections (Link)

Explorers get up to so many different types of activities such as gliding, sailing, mountaineering, go-karting, water activities, air-rifle shooting and much more.

Currently, we do not have an Explorer Scout Troop, if you would like to start an Explorer Scout Troop with 2nd and 7th please get in touch

HM King Charles III has been confirmed as our new Patron, a great honour for UK Scouts.

The King continues a long tradition of the monarch giving their Patronage, dating back to 1912. This was when Scouts was granted its Royal Charter and HM George V became our first Patron.
